Kids and grandparents

I took these this morning while getting J ready for school.  What a beautiful girl you are my gorgeous one.

My parents come up and visit the kids once a fortnight.  They only live 30mins drive away but we dont get to see them too often.  They are definately great GRANDparents.  I hate the thought that they wont be around forever as they kids adore them, so i will make sure i take lots of photos of them in the future...

Sometimes i turn into Bindy's Home Day care... without being paid that is lol.  I always figure its easier if the kids have someone to play with then being bored and complaining to me. We have quite a few over the other day...

I made a gorgeous cake the other day... wholemeal flour with carrots and pineapple.  I try very hard to cook healthy.  I only buy wholegrains (including brown rice, wholemeal bread, wholemal crumpets etc etc).    This cake was delicious!

Cocoons to Butterflies

Its a new game... wrap the kids at tightly as possible in a blanket and watch them try to escape lol.  They love it and have to emerge as butterflies...

My friend came over today with her little girl Emilia.  Rory loves her as you can see.  I see an arranged marriage here...

Better late then.... never!

Life is hectic sometimes.... but here is our life in the last month in photos...

This bird loves drinking coffee, tea and now beer.  But the delay on the camera meant i didnt quite get his head drinking the beer.  And its not animal cruelty as the beer is home brew lol

Here are a bunch of photos taken by myself and also the two kidlets.  They are cheeky monkeys!

A few weeks ago we had a stay dog appear at our back door.  This is probably the 6th stray we have had since living here.  We dont have a completely fenced off yard so they often wander to our back door.  So this cute little white puppy appears, soaked with rain and hungry.  We named him Bolt (cause he looks a bit like the puppy from the movie.  Wayne really wanted to draw a lightening bolt on his side lol.  We gave him some food and called the ranger.  Luckily the kids got a couple of hours play before she arrived and im glad to say he had a microchip and was safely returned to his human family.

Dads are so much fun.  After dinner the kids often grab this blanket and beg daddy to slide them up and down the hallway and wrap them in it to be swung around.

It's always fun to have friends visiting...

All creatures great and small in our backyard!

I have been a bit slack of late.... so much to do... so little time lol.  But im always taking photos...

Here is Angus the spider..... Bill the stick creature.... and Cookie the Kookaburra.  All in our backyard!

My girl had her Easter Hat Parade on the last day of term 1.  I tried my hand at paper mache.  yeah im not a fan lol. I was still trying to dry the thing that morning!   But i ended up doing a giant egg on a hat for her.  She liked it but it was a bit heavy (although she is exaggerating the weight in the last photo!!!)..

J riding her bike along the foreshore at Wangi with Daddy.  She got the bike at Christmas and is going really well on it.

Oh Rory, the fun i am going to have with you on your 21st with photos like these.  See how i have edited the photo using the flower?  Well it wont be edited on 21st party night *insert evil laugh*...

My girl loves to draw things, and lately i am finding these pictures all over the house stuck to things with sticky tape... very cute!

I love this photo... Wayne trying to eat his toast while J and Tricky are both helping themselves too!

Rory has finally started to interact more with Tricky.  This is the first time he was on his shoulder.  btw Tricky's nicknames are: Shit-fer, Turbo (as in turbo oven - were gonna cook him up lol) and CatBait.  Never fear, he is well loved and cant understand his names lol.

We love swimming

I have concentrated on getting the kids swimming lessons this summer.  I used to take the girl but she kept coming home with a runny nose and feeling sick.  But in the last couple of years new owners have taken over the local indoor swimming place and so far so good.  J loves her lessons, unfotunately we cant go this morning as we all have the flue!  YUK.  R loves them too, i still go in the pool with him as he isnt confident by himself yet but J is getting more confident with every lesson.

Here is a link to a small you tube clip i made on my mobile (its not the best sorry but you can check out our cute little pool).

Our pool

R is the nudie... J is in the blue top and red shorts (and cries at the end for some unknown reason!) and the other little girls are Sophie and Kelsi who live on both sides of us.

Worlds Greatest Shave

Around this time of year its the time for heads to be shaved (or hair to be spray painted bright pink etc) all to help raise awareness for Leukemia and to raise much need money for research.
This fundraiser is especially important to me as one of my best friends, Lenora was diagnosed with leukemia about a year ago.
So on Sunday a group of us got together for a party (dress up party in the theme of 'hair the musical' or just the 60's)  and 4 people got their heads shaved including one girl!!!  My hubby was one of them and he also grew a porn star moustache for the occassion too.  Here are some photos, click to enlarge...

Some photos of Rory...

Just woken up!

Singing on his karaoke machine in front of the mirror

Peddling fast down the path...watch out!  aaaaw cuddles together.  Best friends forever too i hope (doesnt every mother?!)

So last week at school it was funky fluro friday.  Its a bit of a fund raiser, here are some photos of the girl all dressed up.  I didnt have much fluro but i did have funky and bright (may i add here that i did not ask her to pose like this, she did it all herself the big poser lol)

Here are the kids holding baby Emilia.  She doesnt look too impressed!  Im so proud of Rory, he is so gentle with her.  I think we have an arranged marriage on our hands here LOL.

And very exciting news.... after a few letters and phone calls to council, they finally are getting rid of the awful gravel pit out the front of our home and replacing it with roadbase... YAY.  After rain we would get potholes... and bring in mud and dirt into the garage.  I will have the before and after photos next week when they have finished.

Big 5th birthday party and more

Where does time go?
I think if i only did blog entries with no photos i could do more but i love spending time on picnik and doing all the pretty collages lol.

Firstly, to the big girls birthday part on Saturday.  We were so lucky with the weather.  It was at least 30C and sunny, perfect for a pool party (sunday was hot too and then it started to rain on Monday... and Tuesday... and overcast Wednesday).  Well it is Autumn now...

More fun in the pool with the neighbours.  The pool might only have another month left before its taken down for the cooler months.  I will miss it, its been so much fun.  It will become a normal slide after this, the kids will slide straight on the ground.

Getting the courtyard ready for the party is a big job.  Im so glad i had some helpers the day before..  (if only i could sweep naked lol).

One of the presents was a gorgeous floor puzzle which daddy helped the kids put together.

The kids love giving us back massages and my big boy loves giving daddy neck massages too.

Luckily the kids usually love dinner.  I took this photo because i asked my girl if she could be any more pinker!!!  Of course the boy wanted a photo too...

The courtyard is great fun to draw on with thick chalk.  Here are some creations...
