Rory in a big boy bed and random photos of past....

I dont like the idea of my baby boy growing up too quick but it was about time he moved from his cot into a big boy bed.  He still fitted ok but that mattress has been standing beside the cot for about a year now...
From this.....
to this....
He absolutely loves it!!!!!!  It originally was a lot higher but it would have been too high for a 3yr old so Wayne cut it down a bit but now its perfect for toys to live underneath and he has his own little cubbyhouse.  Im sure he will have loads of fun with it in years to come.  Oh and his day sleeps are longer too, he must really enjoy the bed!  Thanks to my friend Renee for giving us the bed xx

How cute is this drawing!?!  Jakayla has a boyfriend called Tim.  He sits opposite her at school in their classroom and they get along like a house on fire.  Things must be getting serious as she asked me to spell the word 'love' the other day and this is what she drew...
Notice the word love and the love heart.  Also her very long blonde hair.  She is looking very starry eyed too!!!

Some random old photos mum gave me that i have scanned. Here is yours truely.  I have no idea how old i am but im glad i grew into those ears!!!!!!
Belinda as a Baby
Lenora and me on my 21st.  Im sure i got alcoholic poisoning that night.  And i havent touched Strongbow since YUK YUK YUK

I love this photo of my Mum and Dad.  I think they were in their early 20's here.

I miss my Mum's brown hair, she is now white LOL.  We celebrate her 70th birthday next weekend.
Bye for now... xxx

PS - Hello to my buddy Moira.... dinna fash lassie!!!!!!!!!

Ballarat was freezing but very pretty!

Honestly i dont think we have ever been this cold anywhere else in Australia.  Sure it wasnt as cold as Scotland when i visited there at Christmas time a few years ago but boy it had a biting wind and it seemed to leak through the 5 layers of clothes we had on LOL.  The kids wore their beanies permanently.
More photos of where we stayed
Honestly this was sooooo cold here. I on purpose got the kids a jumper each about 3 sizes too large so i could put another 2 jumpers underneath.  Rory learnt to put his hands in his pockets to keep warm

The roads around Ballarat were gorgeous.  So many old buildings i just loved looking at them.  I love history and really there isnt many old buildings in Australia compared to say the UK so i was so excited to see their 'old' buildings everywhere.

The only real sunny day was a Wednesday so we got up early and headed down to Anakie where Fairy Park is.  We were the only people there, we couldnt believe it!

Housed in specially stylised buildings of castles, cottages and caves all set amongst neatly kept gardens, giant boulders and lovely water features.

More Ballarat!

We loved our holiday at Ballarat.  I would move there in a flash,  but it is 1100km's from here and i would miss my family and friends... plus its too cold for Wayne to work in his profession (a builder, so holding tools when its 2C doesnt work very well!).

This is us at a park in Pennant Hills.  It was freezing this morning and we were nowhere near Ballarat!  We stopped for brekkie and a stretch of the legs.

Giant wind turbines just past Goulburn.  They weigh 80 tonnes and are 80m tall!  We were very impressed.

We stayed the night at Glenrowen.  This is the place where Ned Kelly was captured and the battle was placed.  This is also the first night Rory slept in a big boy bed.  They loved it!

This is Trentham Falls, we are about an hours drive from Ballarat now.  It was absolutely freezing here and lighty raining.  They have had so much water lately that this gorgeous waterfall started to flow!
The view from our loungeroom window at the place we stayed.  Very old building dating back to the 1800's.

View from the carpark.  It used to be a boys home run by nuns.

1850's

On our holiday to Ballarat we visited the gorgeous Sovereign Hill.  It is an open-air museum, situated in an early gold diggings area of the 1850's.
Here is the link: Sovereign Hill
One of the first things we did was get a photo of the kids dressed up in clothes from that era.
Arent they just adorable!!!!

Happy Birthday Rory!

My little scrumptious bum turned 3 on the 14th August.  We had a party for him the week earlier as we were on our way to Ballarat on the 14th.  Here are some photos from the big day...

August it is!

Well there goes my "lets blog more then once a month" theory.... My bad!

Here's a small snapshot of July...

Jakayla has really gotten into building cubbyhouses.  Unfortunately they fall apart and dont stay up so they arent too much fun.  So Daddy went to a local appliance retailer who was more then  happy to pass on some empty cardboard boxes and this is the result:

We have had some gorgeous winter days lately (plus lots of rain in between).  So i set the picnic blanket up outside and Jakayla and her friend Sophie (who lives next door) had a play with their Bratz dolls.

Ah all washed and ready for bed, what a great time of day (for Mummy!!!)

Wayne and Tricky still have that special bond lol.  Tricky loves us all but especially Wayne.  Must be all the beer and toast he feeds him...

Jakayla loves all sorts of craft and especially painting.  Yesterday the girls painted their faces and had a great time!

Hello July

Honestly where does time go?  Im a bit annoyed at myself with only one entry for June so i will have to make sure i do better this month.
Winter is upon us, i love winter and the cold.  We have a lovely fireplace which keeps our home very warm and toasty.  It has been getting down to 1C some nights which is really cold!!!!  Our home is very well insulated, its handy having a builder for a husband!
We are getting photovoltaic panels on our roof next month, so we will then become a carbon neutral home which is fabulous!
Now time to see what photos have been taken the last month....

We had some wood and twigs to burn so we had a little bon fire the other night.  Rugged the kids up and they loved it.
We gets lots of Kookaburras visit us, but this one was quite tame and after i fed him some left over sausages it was hard to get rid of him!  He visited for a few days until i stopped the food!

Look at these cheeky smiles.  Also notice nudie kids in the loungeroom.  I put the music on and went to see what they were up to.  Well techincally Rory isnt nude, he has his beanie on!  Luckily the heat transfer takes the heat from the dining room where the fireplace is, into the loungeroom!

We recently had the school sports carnival, and our team colour was green (very hard to find a flattering green top let me tell you!).  A friend had a can of green hairspray on hand so we had a bit of fun with the kids hair...

Here are some nice photos....
Rory and his cousin Nick.  Nick is about 6ft 6 and we think Rory will one day be able to look him in the eye!
Rory and his mate Ben.  Ben is 9yrs old but Rory just ADORES him and Ben is so good with him too, loves playing with him.  Ben's  brother Tim is in Jakayla's kindergarten class.

Me and my sister Deb.
Rory and Stuart fast asleep.... me and the hubby and Stuarts parents went out for an afternoon (it was lovely!!!) and my friend Suzy, who babysat sent me this photo to tell me all was good!

Tricky is going strong and healthy... must be the odd bit of beer he is consuming!

I love this one.  Jakayla drew a picture of Tricky and i was so impressed with it i stuck it on the wall right near his cage.  Problem is he loves it too and has nearly eaten most of it.

Well thats about it from us at the moment.  Rory has viral laryngitis so he is very sooky and cranky and unwell at the moment poor baby. So far so good for the rest of us!  Till next time...
